Build & Finalize Your College List

Before you start making your college list, think about:

1) What you want in a school (we call that "fit")

2) What program will challenge you (we call that "match")

3) Which universities  you have a very high chance of being accepted (we call this “likely or safety”)

Our resources will help you explore colleges that fit your academic, social, and financial needs and interests.

How to complete this milestone

  1. Research potential transfer colleges (UC, CSU, private, out-of-state).
  2. Identify fit, match, and safety schools for your academic profile.
  3. Compare colleges based on academics, finances, and campus culture.
  4. Narrow your list down to 5–8 schools that best fit your goals and document your reasons for choosing each school on your list.
  5. Track the transfer application dates and deadlines for each university and college.
